Morgantown getting ready for the 6th Holiday Hoopla

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – With Halloween firmly in the rear view mirror, many are now getting ready for the holiday season, and one community is getting ready to spread that holiday cheer.

Morgantown will be celebrating its sixth Holiday Hoopla on Main Street this year, bringing in dozens of local vendors selling food, art, clothing and much more, giving event goers and opportunity to get their holiday shopping done early.

But continuing this year is a resident favorite. A one-of-a-kind drone show will be back spreading that holiday feeling.

“Four years ago, we were trying to think of something to make it bigger and something to kind of set our event apart from everybody else,” said Kersie Sharp, the assistant city clerk for the City of Morgantown. “And we just seen, we got word of the drone show. I don’t know if it was from Facebook or something like that, but somebody came up with it. We found a company, and everybody loved it in our community. And so we just keep adding more drones and making it bigger, and we love it.”

Holiday Hoopla will be taking place on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. right on Main Street.

Officials says to be sure to bring your holiday cheer and an appetite for plenty of hot chocolate.
