Barren County Election Day voting: What you need to know
GLASGOW, Ky. – Tuesday, Nov. 3 is Election Day, and Barren County is preparing for day of voting to begin.
Early voting in Barren County already turned out over 3,600 voters, and Barren County Clerk Helena Birdwell is expecting the same or more voter turnout on Election Day.
It is important to know that you can vote at any of the counties’ voting locations no matter where in the county you live.
However, the UK extension office is not a voting location on Election Day.
According to Birdwell, you will need to bring a photo ID to vote, and the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“So many men and women fought for our country so that we can have the freedoms that we have here today. And there’s no reason to take those opportunities for granted. So vote. Your vote counts. It matters. And I can assure you that here in Barren County, Kentucky, it will be counted appropriately,” said Birdwell.
The main races in Barren County to look into before heading out to vote include the mayors and city commissioners of Glasgow, Park City and Cave City, along with the Barren County jailer.
Many of the officials are running unopposed for magistrates, but if you are in the fourth or sixth district, you will have two options on your ballot.
