BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the U.S. 31-EX (Race Street) and Front Street intersection in Glasgow will remain an all-way stop.

According to transportation officials, the decision was reached after an evaluation, and a traffic signal at the intersection will be removed.

The signal is scheduled to be taken out on Wednesday, Oct. 7, officials say.

According to KYTC, the evaluation began due to a utility company moving lines to new poles, requiring traffic signals to be relocated.

The transportation cabinet says preliminary data collected before the evaluation showed traffic counts at the intersection no longer met federal guidelines for a traffic signal. The full evaluation confirmed the prior data, officials say.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet states it will continue to monitor traffic conditions at the intersection to ensure the all-way stop continues to provide safe and efficient traffic flow.
