WKU continues to grow offensively with Glenn at QB

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers’ defense entered Saturday off of a spectacular performance against Howard, allowing just 57 total yards of offense and four first downs in four quarters.

While the Hilltoppers did manage more than 57 yards of work in their Week 3 matchup, they still left that scoreboard pretty bleak, failing to produce up any points against the fourth-ranked team in the nation.

“We’ve shown flashes offensively. We’re nowhere near where we need to be offensively. (It) starts with the offensive line. I thought we played pretty poorly in the offensive line,” head coach Tyson Helton said postgame Saturday.

“(Indiana was) a good front, and you already were going to have a hard time up front with them, but we did not play well. The quarterback was rushed way too much, took too many hits, so we gotta get a lot better offensively.”

Brock Glenn, in his first Hilltopper start, was able to move the ball downfield in an efficient manner, connecting with multiple guys in multiple big spots.

Glenn finished the day responsible for 150 of Western’s 186 total offensive yardage, 30 of those coming on the ground where he led the team in rushing.

“We like to be as versatile as possible in our offense, using the quarterback to run, expanding the pocket, stay in the pocket, play action, straight drop back. We try to do a little bit of everything and stay dynamic as possible,” Glenn said.

The game plan surrounding the presence of Glenn on the field was dynamic, but it wasn’t able to get into the end zone, leaving more to show as the team ends the road trip.

WKU’s home opener against Mercyhurst is set Saturday at 6 p.m. where the Tops will look to win their first game of the 2026 season.
