Bowling Green man charged with vehicle theft

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged with vehicle theft at a local dealership.

According to a uniform citation, Bowling Green police responded Tuesday afternoon for a report of a stolen vehicle from Campbell Chevrolet of Bowling Green at 2151 Scottsville Road.

Authorities say the caller stated a vehicle had been stolen off of the dealership’s lot on July 20.

Police say one of the registered owners of the vehicle was identified as 41-year-old Christopher Miller of Bowling Green.

Authorities say video footage shows a male subject unlocking the vehicle with what appears to be a spare key before driving it out of the lot. During this time, police say the vehicle had already been sold to the dealership.

On Tuesday, authorities say they located a vehicle matching a given description at a Scottsville Road intersection and conducted a traffic stop. Police say the driver was identified as Miller.

Miller was detained. Police say Miller stated he and another individual owned the vehicle.

Authorities say Miller admitted to removing the vehicle from the dealership lot.

While searching the stolen vehicle, police say they located a pipe with a powdery substance and a container of methamphetamine.

Miller was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 and $1,000,000, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and first degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine).
