Breckenridge County authorities searching for man considered armed and dangerous

IRVINGTON, Ky. – Breckenridge County authorities are searching for a man who is considered armed and dangerous.

According to the Breckenridge County Sheriff’s Office, authorities are searching for a black male who is 5’11”, 160 pounds, approximately 45 years old, and wearing a maroon T-shirt.

Breckenridge County dispatch tells WNKY News 40 that the City of Irvington has issued a shelter-in-place order and the Breckenridge County Sheriff’s Office has asked everyone within county limits to stay inside. Breckenridge County government operations are also closed.

Dispatch said no residents have been injured, but the man is considered “armed and dangerous.”

The Breckenridge County School District announced it will be closed on Wednesday due to a “dangerous situation.”

Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Officer Trooper Bryan Washer says KSP is now involved in the search.
