Glasgow police warn of people posing as EPB employees

GLASGOW, Ky. — The Glasgow Police Department says it has received reports of individuals going door-to-door claiming to represent Glasgow Electric Plant Board, or EPB, when they are not EPB employees, according to a social media post by the department.
According to reports to police, these individuals speak with residents about changing their service to Windstream/Kinetic. Reports indicate they are on foot and do not display any company identification or logos.
Glasgow EPB advises the public that their employees will always wear clothing with the Glasgow EPB logo, arrive in a Glasgow EPB-marked vehicle and will call to schedule an appointment if upgrades or service work inside the home are necessary.
Officials urge residents to verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent Glasgow EPB before allowing them into their homes. Residents should not provide personal, account or financial information to unidentified individuals.
Residents who are unsure if someone is legitimately representing Glasgow EPB should contact the company directly at 270-651-8341.
