Allen County man charged with sexual abuse of a minor

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – An Allen County man is charged with sexual offenses involving a minor following an investigation of an alleged incident in 2024.

According to the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, officers arrested 23-year-old Terry Allen Markhart, of Scottsville, on Sep. 4 after an investigation into allegations of sexual contact with a juvenile.

Detectives say they received information related to an alleged incident that happened in the summer of 2024. Markhart allegedly made sexual contact with the victim when they were 14 and Markhart was 21.

The task force says interviews were conducted with the victim’s mother and Markhart.

After the interviews, Markhart was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, 1st degree – illegal sex act, victim under 18 years of age, and sodomy, 3rd degree.

Markhart was lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
