Gallatin County deputy charged with stalking, sexual abuse

GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky. – A Gallatin County deputy is facing stalking and sexual abuse charges.

On Aug. 26, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office says it received a request from Gallatin County Sheriff Bud Webster to assist with an investigation.

Authorities say an adult female contacted Webster regarding a complaint against Gallatin County Deputy Jason Walker.

According to authorities, the female complainant stated that between May and August, Walker “contacted her under the guise of following up on a domestic violence case he assisted with.”

Walker continued contacting the female, authorities say, with the conversation turning to “more personal” and “romantic” topics.

When the female asked Walker to stop contacting her, he persisted and was discovered to be following her and watching her at various locations around Gallatin County, according to authorities.

Walker also used a law enforcement database to find other personal information about the female and told her he had those and other capabilities, authorities say.

According to the sheriff’s office, the female once agreed to meet Walker at a local gas station, where he reached into her vehicle and inappropriately touched her despite her attempting to move away.

In addition, authorities say Walker allegedly responded to the female’s home, where he “forcibly touched her” in a sexual manner as she tried to stop him and walk away.

During both instances, authorities say Walker was in full uniform.

According to authorities, Walker tried to hide his communications with the female subject and disabled his department issued vehicle’s GPS system.

Walker was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count each of third-degree sexual abuse, first-degree stalking, tampering with physical evidence and first-degree official misconduct.

Walker was lodged at the Boone County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
