Verizon Wireless outage reported in Laurel County, may impact 911 calls

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a Verizon Wireless outage may impact 911 calls in its area.

According to authorities, the outage may affect some Verizon customers’ ability to contact 911 and non-emergency phone lines.

Deputies say the technical issue appears to be on Verizon’s end, and crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible.

During the outage, authorities say all 911 calls may be routed to Rockcastle 911 for an immediate response.
