Man charged with DUI after crash in Grayson County
GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (K105) – One man is charged with driving under the influence after a crash in Grayson County on Monday.
That’s according to a report by K105, which states Leitchfield police and firefighters, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and EMS responded to a collision at the intersection of North Main and West Walnut Street on Monday around 5:50 p.m.
According to the report, the crash happened when a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Christopher S. Brown of Falls of Rough struck a vehicle that was turning left from North Main onto West Walnut Street.
Witnesses state Brown allegedly was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light at the time of the crash, according to K105.
Brown was reportedly pulled from his vehicle by witnesses after it caught fire, the report states.
According to K105, Leitchfield Fire Department Lt. Blake Schroerlucke arrived on scene within minutes after the crash occurred and extinguished the fire.
Two individuals in the vehicle that was struck were transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center, the report states.
During a vehicle search, K105 states authorities found six empty beer cans.
Brown was arrested and taken to a local hospital for a blood draw and medical clearance.
He remains at the Grayson County Detention Center on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving on a DUI suspended license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, felony wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
