Nashville man charged with fleeing police in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Nashville, Tennessee man is facing multiple charges after an alleged high-speed pursuit in Bowling Green Friday night.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police observed a vehicle traveling 112 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 65.
Authorities say when they attempted to stop the vehicle, it turned off all of its lights and sped up, resulting in a pursuit.
The vehicle then entered exit 20B and continued fleeing on Interstate 165, reaching 130 mph, troopers say.
The vehicle then took exit 3 and ran a red light on Nashville Road before running off of the roadway, according to authorities.
Authorities say the vehicle then entered Nashville Road again, got back onto I-165, drove over a concrete barrier and exited the road again.
After attempting a PIT technique on the vehicle, authorities say it continued on I-165.
According to the citation, the vehicle eventually left the right side of the road around the 1-mile marker southbound.
The driver was identified as 19-year-old Quorben Walker of Nashville.
Walker was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities say after detecting the odor of marijuana, they located marijuana in the vehicle.
Walker was arrested and transported to TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital for medical clearance.
He remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on charges of speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, reckless driving, no tail lamps, disregarding a traffic control device – traffic light, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle). first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), possession of marijuana and improper passing.
