Man arrested after allegedly fleeing traffic stop in Hopkinsville

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKDZ) – One man is behind bars after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon, according to a report by WKDZ.

The report states Hopkinsville police say they tried to stop a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Gideon Stoltzfus on East 18th Street, however, the vehicle fled.

WKDZ states Stoltz traveled down several city streets while driving recklessly before he wrecked on Cox Mill Road.

According to WKDZ, police say Stoltzfus was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, reckless driving, no registration plates, failure to wear a seat belt, driving on a DUI suspended license second offense and first-degree criminal mischief.
