More than 100 grams of meth seized in McCracken County, deputies say
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. – More than 100 grams of methamphetamine was seized in McCracken County as part of separate drug investigations, authorities say.
According to a social media post by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, three people were arrested last week in connection with separate drug investigations regarding methamphetamine trafficking within the county.
Authorities say in April, detectives began investigating 38-year-old Melissa Jones after gaining information alleging she was involved in illegal drug activity.
Deputies say they learned Jones was “conspiring with others to traffic methamphetamine.” As a result, she was indicted in June on a charge of conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine.
On June 23, authorities say they located Jones during a traffic stop and arrested her on the outstanding indictment warrant.
During the arrest, authorities say she possessed a small amount of methamphetamine.
In addition, on June 25, narcotics detectives gathered information leading to a residence search at 750 Main St. in Paducah, according to the sheriff’s office.
During the search, authorities say they found about 52 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Forty-seven-year-old Robert Cramer was arrested and charged in connection with the seized drugs.
According to authorities, they believe Cramer had been distributing methamphetamine in the area for about six months. He was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Later that day, authorities say they searched a separate residence at 365 Meacham Lane, Lot 15, in McCracken County.
Authorities say while at the scene, they stopped 50-year-old Eric Lawrence from driving away and recovered about 64 grams of methamphetamine from Lawrence’s truck. He faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff’s office says additional controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and cash were also recovered.
All three individuals were lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
The investigations remain ongoing. Additional charges are possible, authorities say.
