Floodwaters wash away Grayson County community center

CANEYVILLE, Ky. – Floodwaters swept away a Caneyville community center.

According to K105, the Curtis Wells Community Center, located at 5225 Rabbit Flat Road, was washed away more than a half mile to Wilson Church Road by floodwaters Saturday afternoon.

The building was named after former Grayson County magistrate Curtis Wells, according to K105.

A WNKY News 40 reporter at the scene observed several pieces of debris in the water leading to Wilson Church Road Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, Grayson County Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson declared a state of emergency due to heavy rainfall.

According to a social media post on Saturday, Grayson County Emergency Management notified the public of at least 14 road closures.
