Hardy & Son Funeral Homes celebrates 100 years of service

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Community members gathered Thursday to celebrate a major milestone for a longtime Bowling Green business.

The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hardy & Son Funeral Homes as the company marked its 100th anniversary.

Founded in 1926, Hardy & Son has grown from a small family-owned business into one of the longest-operating funeral homes in south-central Kentucky.

Employees, community leaders and supporters gathered to honor the funeral home’s century of service and its commitment to helping families through difficult times.

Owner, Bill Hardy, said the company’s success has been built on listening to families and meeting their needs.

“For us, the key to taking care of families is understanding what they want, maintaining open communication and providing the support they need,” Hardy said. “That’s what we’ve tried to do for the past 100 years. You keep what works, you care about people and you continue serving the community.”

Hardy said he hopes the business will continue building on its legacy of service for generations to come.

Officials with the chamber say the anniversary celebration recognized not only the company’s history, but also its continued role in serving families throughout the region.
