Former Hilltopper Lucky Jackson signs with Detroit Lions
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Former WKU football star Lucky Jackson signed with the Detroit Lions this week.
The wide receiver played for Western from 2015 to 2019 where he accumulated an array of accolades during his four years on the Hill.
In his senior season, Jackson racked up 1,1133 yards and four touchdowns. His 94 receptions ranked eighth in FBS and second in WKU program history for a single season.
Fast forward to 2026 and you might have seen Jackson in the UFL, playing for the Louisville Kings.
He recorded the franchise’s first touchdown and led the team with 32 receptions for 392 yards.
The Kings capped off their first season with a UFL championship win over the DC Defenders on June 13.
After a year that drew professional attention, Jackson now gets a second shot at pursuing a career in the NFL with the Lions.
He’s among the first group of UFL players to sign NFL contracts.
