Minnesota woman dies after motorcycle wreck in Anderson County

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. – A 61-year-old woman is dead following a motorcycle crash in Anderson County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, the wreck occurred around 3:50 p.m. on Sunday near 1346 Willisburg Road.

Authorities say troopers arrived on scene and located a three-wheeled motorcycle operated by 61-year-old Carol Jean Olson of Faribault, Minnesota had crashed in a sharp curve while traveling on Kentucky 53.

Troopers say they learned through a preliminary investigation that Olson was the only occupant of the motorcycle.

While traveling on KY-53, authorities say Olson lost control around a sharp curve in the road and was thrown from the motorcycle. As a result, troopers say Olson died after striking the base of a road sign.

KSP was assisted by Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson County EMS and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
