Motorcyclist dead following three-vehicle crash in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – A motorcyclist is dead following a three-vehicle collision in Laurel County.
According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, the crash occurred on Hal Rogers Parkway around five miles west of London at the intersection of White Oak Road on Saturday night around 10:15 p.m.
Authorities say a Chevrolet Equinox driven by 18-year-old Hannah Sproles of London was traveling westbound on Hal Rogers Parkway and pulled from the median turn lane into the path of an eastbound motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Nathan McCart of London.
Troopers say the crash caused the Equinox to hit a Chevrolet Silverado that was at a stop sign on White Oak Road and waiting for traffic to clear.
According to authorities, the Silverado was being driven by 43-year-old Joel Gilliam of London.
All three drivers were transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in London for treatment. The motorcycle operator was in critical condition when transported, however, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities say the other two drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the Swiss Colony Fire Department, London Laurel rescue Squad, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County and the Laurel County coroner.
