Burn ban lifted in Metcalfe and Edmonson counties

METCALFE COUNTY and EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – Burn bans recently issued in Metcalfe County and Edmonson County have been lifted as of Friday morning, officials say.

That’s according to executive orders by Metcalfe County Judge-Executive Larry Wilson and Edmonson County Judge-Executive Ronald Scott Lindsey. The orders say the ban has been lifted due to rain subsiding drought conditions.

At the time of this report, burn bans remain active the following counties:

  • Bracken
  • Grayson
  • Logan
  • ​Monroe
  • ​Simpson
  • ​Todd
  • ​Warren​

Burn bans generally prohibit the outdoor burning of any material, including but not limited to charcoal grilling, bonfires, campfires and burning leaves. In addition, fireworks lighting may also be prohibited depending on the county.
