Multiple cats and kittens rescued from trailer in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ky. – Multiple cats and kittens are now rescued from a trailer that was reportedly locked in Lawrence County.
According to a social media post by Lawrence County Animal Control, on Monday, rescuers responded where the animals were found locked inside of the trailer without access to food or water.
Animal control says the animals were left to slowly starve.
According to the organization, all of the surviving cats have been removed and are safe at the county animal shelter.
Animal control thanks Judge Executive Phil Carter, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the county attorney for their help.
“Situations like this take coordination, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support in getting these animals to safety,” animal control stated.
Right now, the animal control group says it is in need of donations for the animals, such as cat litter and litter boxes. If you are able to donate, reach out to the shelter at (606) 673-4509, located at 23 Poorhouse Road in Louisa, Kentucky.
