Ohio County Sheriff’s Office releases further details on death investigation

HARTFORD, Ky. – The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office has released more details on the investigation of a body found on April 13 in Horse Branch.

According to a release, the body has been identified as 25-year-old Joseph Wade, of Goshen, IN.

Wade’s cause of death was determined to be suicide, the release states.

OCSO says it “does not post on individuals that have taken their own life out of respect for the family.”

OSCO released the information due to “false rumors” circulating on social media, according to the release.

Authorities say this was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the community. The release states that there was “no mutilation or dismemberment of the body.”

OSCO says trail cameras in the area of the discovery of Wade’s body were used in the investigation.
