WKU SCCJS students recognized at annual banquet

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Students that are part of WKU’s Social, Culture, Crime and Justice studies were recognized Monday at their annual banquet. Scholarships, awards and honor society inductions were all presented to students.

Interim chair of the department of SCCJS said that donating and giving back to departments at school not only supports schools but also pours into students to help them reach their goal.

“Scholarships are a great way to, No. 1, recognize our students and then to provide a little relief from tuition cost for our students. Our scholarships are important because they are created by people who have some connection to SCCJS and then they are funded by individuals in our community,” said Amy Krull, interim chair for the Department of Social, Culture, Crime and Justice Studies.

Aliyah Frazier, a senior studying health care and administration with a certificate in social justice, says that being noticed for hard work goes a long way. She continues to motivate her classmates and fellow Toppers to keep working hard.

“Keep going. Keep trying. No matter what life throws at you just keep going. The road does not end just because of something minor happening. Minor inconveniences do not let that become a big thing and just keep going and pushing forward,” Frazier said.
