Lost River Cave celebrating Earth Week
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lost River Cave has made it a priority to conserve the local Lost River Cave and the surrounding area, and with Earth Week beginning next week, the cave is inviting residents to come out and enjoy a week of activities and conservation.
Starting on April 20, the cave will host the sound bath as they invite locals to come out and enjoy the relaxing sounds and sights inside the cave.
However, this year, the cave is trying something new. On April 21, Lost River Cave will be combining the Cave Fest with the Graves Gilbert Clinic Health Walk, offering an opportunity to walk the beautiful paths around the cave.
“We have a big new event. It is the Graves Gilbert Clinic health walk paired with Cave Fest. So we’re going to have a community health walk, as we’ve done before. But this time we’re all going to end in the cave. And the event is focused on, opportunities that connect the community with a healthy body, healthy mind or healthy environment,” said director of philanthropy for Lost River Cave Katie Cielinski.
Continuing through the week you can join in on their invasive plant pull, taking some time to scour the park, looking for invasive plants that harm the local ecosystem and discarding them.
They are also hosting a bourbon raffle, benefitting their butterfly habitat. They have 2,500 tickets available and will raffle off four different bourbons to the lucky winners.
