SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of sending messages to a decoy Facebook account that posed as a teen girl.

According to a uniform citation, a detective with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was sent messages on a decoy social media account on April 6.

Authorities say 29-year-old Dustin Scruggs of Bowling Green messaged the account and was told he was messaging a 16-year-old girl.

According to the citation, Scruggs was sending explicit messages to the account and “clearly expressed intentions to have sexual contact with the 16-year-old decoy.”

Authorities say Scruggs then wanted to meet with the teen for sexual contact.

On April 7, authorities say Scruggs again stated he wanted to meet the teen and was given an address to meet her.

Deputies say Scruggs arrived and was taken into custody.

Scruggs was transported to the Allen County Detention Center and charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means.
