BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges after several alleged hit-and-runs involving vehicles Thursday morning.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department was flagged down at 12:45 a.m. by a driver off of Chestnut Street and East 13th Avenue, who stated they had just witnessed a car strike several parked vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Authorities say they located a car that had struck a brick fence at 530 E. 13th Ave.

Police say a male, identified as 32-year-old Brendan Lewis of Bowling Green, was pushing on the front of the vehicle to try to move it back to the roadway.

Authorities say Lewis smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages.

According to police, Lewis refused to follow commands and was later taken into custody.

Authorities say they located open tequila in Lewis’ vehicle. Lewis was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, where authorities say he suggested he would like to “fight” an officer.

Police say upon speaking with a complainant, they advised Lewis had been denied service at a local bar due to being “extremely intoxicated.” According to the citation, the complainant stated Lewis then struck two vehicles. In total, authorities say Lewis struck four vehicles, along with the brick fence.

Lewis remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, menacing, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited and resisting arrest.
