Andy Barr stops by Bowling Green for meet and greet with voters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In the midst of a heated election season, Andy Barr stopped by Bowling Green to chat with the president and discuss his plan for the Senate if he were to get elected.
For some residents, though, these meet and greets present an opportunity to familiarize themselves with those that are running.
“I don’t know much about each of the candidates, so I’m going to all of their events trying to figure out what they stand for, what they stand on, what are they protecting? Why I should vote for them,” said Kentucky voter Semir Nailovic.
Barr, who currently represents Kentucky’s sixth district in Congress, says Kentucky Republicans need someone to represent them who can defeat Democrat leaders trying to prevent the MAGA agenda.
“Kentucky Republicans are starting to see they owe it to their philosophy to win. They should not take the general election for granted. And, it’s very, very important that we take Kentucky off the map, nominate the strongest general election candidate. I am the strongest general election candidate who is battle tested and defeated Democrats over and over again in the one swing district in Kentucky,” said Rep. and senatorial candidate Andy Barr.
However, Barr also mentions that listening is an important skill for senators and to utilize it and find the best ways to represent those, especially here in south-central Kentucky.
“I think listening is important, and I want to hear what they have to say about how I can represent them, how I can be an advocate and a champion for the families of south-central Kentucky and Warren County. Like I said, the most dynamic, economically growing part of the state. So it’s important for me to understand what they want in the next U.S. senator. But it’s also important for me to share these arguments with them about why I would be honored to earn their support,” Barr said.
The primary election in Kentucky is set for May 19.
