Kentucky State Police Post 3 to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is reminding drivers it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints.
According to the agency, this involves general patrol tactics focused on known problematic areas to promote safer roadways.
KSP states it also uses the checkpoints to attempt to discourage the violation of laws.
Authorities say they will be checking for driver impairment, vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming registration and insurance of vehicles and valid licensing of drivers.
Other violations of law or other public safety issues that arise will be addressed, according to KSP.
Post 3 serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties.
