UPDATE: Suspect Arrested after Allegedly making Bomb Threat Against Barren County Courthouse

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Courthouse was evacuated Monday for an investigation, according to Detective Adam Bow, public information officer with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
Bow says the agency was on scene for a report of a bomb threat.
The Administrative Office of the Courts has since released the following statement:
“The Barren County Courthouse is back in business after a false bomb threat was called into the district judge’s office at 10:06 a.m. CDT today.”
“The caller said there was a bomb in the courthouse and that drones would soon be arriving. Law enforcement officers evacuated the building and searched the courthouse for explosives, finding none. Officers deemed the facility safe for occupancy approximately an hour after the bomb call.
During the investigation, investigators determined that the suspect had placed multiple calls to courthouse offices while concealing the phone number.
According to the release, the suspect, identified as Lee Wesley Elmore of Glasgow, was scheduled to appear in Court later Monday Morning. Investigators also say Elmore later contacted court personnel and identified himself using the same phone number from which the bomb threat was called in.
Law enforcement located and made contact with Elmore at his home in Glasgow, where they say he initially denied making the threat before attempting to flee on foot.
The release states Elmore was apprehended a short distance away without further incident. Elmore is now facing charges of 1st degree terroristic threatening, and 3rd degree fleeing or evading police.
Officials say the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
