Hopkins County man charged following shooting incident in Muhlenberg County

BEECH CREEK, Ky. – A Hopkins County man is a suspect in the shooting of a Todd County man.
According to a release, the Kentucky State Police responded to a report of an armed man making threats on Beech Creek Road in Beech Creek in Muhlenberg County Saturday evening.
KSP’s preliminary investigation indicates that the 62-year-old Harvey Lear, of Nortonville, is a suspect in the shooting of a Todd County man.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported for treatment.
Lear was arrested and is lodged at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
Lear is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence, and false report of an incident resulting in an emergency response.
The investigation is ongoing.
