Bowling Green man arrested after allegedly riding horse while intoxicated, police say

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged with riding a horse under the influence in city limits.
According to a uniform citation, a Bowling Green Police Department officer was driving on Glen Lily Road towards Stubbins Street and located a man “slumped over” on a horse traveling away from Glen Lily Road.
The horse was traveling between the sidewalk and the roadway.
The officer made contact with the man at the intersection of Glen Lily Road and Vine Street and detected a strong odor of alcohol from the man, according to the citation.
The man allegedly told the officer that he had visited a liquor store and was returning home.
According to the citation, the man had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and delayed movement.
The man was identified as 48-year-old Jorje Luis Hernandes Ramires, of Bowling Green.
Hernandes Ramires consented to Standard Field Sobriety Tests, according to the citation.
Following the tests, Hernandes Ramires was arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.
Hernandes Ramirez is charged with operating a non-motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants.
The investigation is ongoing.
