Edmonson County Sheriffs Department K-9 unit given protective vest

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky – The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department recently received a grant to provide new protective gear for its K-9 unit.
The grant funded a stab and bulletproof vest designed to keep the K-9 as safe as possible while on duty.
The K-9 is still getting used to the weight of the vest, but once she is ready, she will be able to wear it in the field.
“We don’t want our dogs to get hurt. They’re not only our best friends out on the roads, but they’re also our protectors,” said K-9 handler Stanley Zeornes.
“I give the K-9 credit for how protective they are for us and how much work they do for us,” he added.
The K-9 has been training with the vest since the sheriff’s office received it and should be ready in the coming week.
