Ohio County felon arrested in Allen County, charged with drug trafficking

OHIO COUNTY – A joint law enforcement investigation led to the arrest of an Ohio County man.
According to a release, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police arrested 34-year-old Dwayne Hackney, of Centertown, on Tuesday in Allen County.
OCSO says KSP detectives located Hackney following a traffic stop.
According to a uniform citation, Hackney’s vehicle had dark, aftermarket tint.
Detectives say that during the investigation, a “large” amount of suspected methamphetamine was located in Hackney’s vehicle, along with a semi-automatic handgun. Hackney is a convicted felon.
Authorities believe Hackney purchased the suspected methamphetamine and was traveling back to Ohio County to distribute it to the community, according to the release.
Hackney was arrested without incident and lodged at the Allen County Jail.
Hackney is charged with excessive windshield/ window tinting, rim or frame obscuring lettering or decal on plate, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, 2nd offense or > – (> or = 2gms methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. He was also served a probation violation.
The investigation is ongoing.
