Horse Cave man arrested on drug trafficking charges

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A Hart County man is facing drug trafficking charges after authorities say they received an anonymous tip.
According to a uniform citation, on Monday, dispatch received information regarding a possible drug transaction.
The Kentucky State Police says it responded to a location off of Bennett Drive, where they made contact with 63-year-old Ricky Bell of Horse Cave.
Authorities say they entered the residence and conducted a search with verbal consent.
Troopers say they located suspected methamphetamine and a clear glass pipe, along with digital scales and empty, clear plastic bags.
According to the citation, Bell denied ownership of all of the items, aside from some marijuana. Authorities say they then were given permission to search Bell’s phone for text messages, were they located several texts involving drug transactions.
Bell was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.
He faces charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
