FFA chapters in Kentucky schools celebrate ‘All in for Ag’ Education week
FRANKLIN, Ky. – From March 16-20, all FFA chapters in middle and high schools across the state of Kentucky are celebrating “All in For Ag” Education week.
This is the first of two weeks throughout the year of 2026 that all chapters in the state will celebrate.
During the week, middle and high school students will attend different field trips and get a chance to compete in regional competitions regarding farming and agriculture.
High school students will also get a chance to mentor elementary level students and teach them all things agriculture.
During both agriculture education weeks throughout the year, they will get the chance to teach the younger students about different elements of the industry. This week, they will be teaching them about farm animals and what they provide us with. In September during the second education week, they will learn more about plant life.
High school FFA students will get the chance to show the younger kids the ropes and teach them how we get some of the food and resources we have.
“At that age, it’s really important to go ahead and start educating them on agriculture and it’s importance. We don’t just go to the store and milk is just magically there, it came from a dairy farm.” Said Abby Cline, Agriculture Teacher at Franklin-Simpson High School. “And that’s what we’re trying to get across to those young students, expose them to our high school students to see where they could go as they get older,” Cline added.
The week also provides the older middle and high school students a chance to explore career choices in agriculture.
Through field trips, competitions, and other events the FFA gives them a chance to explore opportunities in all areas that the industry has to offer.
“The FFA program has been so eye opening to so many different facets in the industry of agriculture, and it’s so important for young people in middle school and high school to be exposed to those because it opens up so many career paths and opportunities that we didn’t know were available beforehand,” said Bella Robertson, the FFA president at Franklin-Simpson High School.
