1 dead following collision in Knott County

LEBURN, Ky. – One person is dead following a collision in Knott County.
The Kentucky State Police says on Monday shortly after 8 p.m., troopers received a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle collision on KY-80 in the Leburn community in Knott County.
First responders arrived at the scene and located a vehicle that had traveled over an embankment off of the westbound shoulder of the roadway, authorities say.
Troopers say following a preliminary investigation, they determined the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over the embankment, ejecting the driver, 68-year-old Keith Dingus of Langley.
Two juvenile passengers were found in the vehicle, troopers say. Both were transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knott County Coroner’s Office.
Troopers say the investigation indicates the driver may have experienced a medical emergency before the collision. He was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
Toxicology results are pending at this time.
This incident remains under investigation.
