Man charged in wife’s murder in Bullitt County

MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. – A Bullitt County man is charged with murder in the death of his wife.

According to a uniform citation, the Mount Washington Police Department was dispatched Friday shortly after 9 p.m. to 120 Williamsburg Court for an investigation.

Police say upon arrival, they saw 67-year-old Richard Chesher of Mount Washington standing at his open garage door, appearing to be covered in blood.

Authorities say Richard Chesher then attempted to close the garage door, however, a body was visible on the floor and covered in what appeared to be blood.

Richard Chesher was detained without incident.

Authorities say they identified the body as that of Bonnie Chesher, Richard Chesher’s wife.

In addition, authorities say they found a trail of blood from the home into the garage, as well as boards fashioned into a ramp into a pickup truck.

Chesher was arrested on charges of murder – domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
