Revving up for camp: The Center for Courageous Kids hosting raffle benefit
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — The Center for Courageous Kids is giving children with disabilities and lifelong illnesses the chance to experience summer camp in a medically safe and fully accessible environment — all at no cost to their families.
Located in Scottsville, the medical camp allows children to build friendships, create lifelong memories and simply enjoy being kids in a space designed specifically for their medical and physical needs.
Now, the organization is raising funds to help even more children attend camp by raffling off two youth dirt bikes. The fundraiser is made possible through a partnership with owner Brian Raabe for Elemental Motorsports.
The two bikes are SSR Motorsports SX50 CC two-stroke models designed for young riders. Tickets are $10 each, and the raffle drawing will take place March 6 at 3:30 p.m.
Organizers say the bikes are meant to give kids a fun opportunity to get outside and enjoy themselves — much like the experience campers have at the center. Special events coordinator Tia Geter says proceeds from the raffle will help provide more children the opportunity to attend camp and take part in the center’s inclusive programs.
