Nikko Beason is a reporter for WNKY Television and a Bowling Green native with a deep connection to the community he covers. Born and raised in Bowling Green, Beason graduated from Warren Central High School, where he was a standout athlete in both track and football. His lifelong ties to the region give him a unique perspective when reporting on the people, development, and issues impacting South Central Kentucky.

After high school, Beason served in the United States Air Force as a civil engineer, where he worked on diesel generators and aircraft arresting systems that support flight operations. Following his military service, he returned to Kentucky and eventually made his way back to Bowling Green, where his passion for storytelling and community involvement began to grow in new ways.

Beason developed a strong interest in aerial photography and drone videography, launching his own drone media work that highlights local stories and landscapes from above. His work gained widespread attention during the April 2025 flooding in Kentucky, when he began sharing aerial footage to help the community better understand the scope of the disaster. That experience sparked a deeper passion for visual storytelling and ultimately led him to journalism at News 40.

Outside the newsroom, Beason enjoys spending time with his son and his dog, listening to music, and continuing to explore the region through drone photography. He remains passionate about using both aerial imagery and journalism to help tell the stories of the community he calls home.
