Elkton man allegedly assaults neighbor with baseball bat, charged with attempted murder

ELKTON, Ky. – An Elkton man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly assaulting his neighbor with a baseball bat.

According to WEKT Radio, the Elkton Police Department responded to Elkton Green Apartments located on South Main Street for a possible assault.

When police arrived, they located a 60-year-old man. The man was bleeding from his head and had obvious bone fractures.

Police told WKDZ that during the investigation, they determined 40-year-old Roy Arms to be a suspect in the assault.

Arms is the victim’s neighbor.

Police say Arms confronted the victim about a possible theft.

The victim was taken to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment.

Arms allegedly admitted to the police that he was trying to kill his neighbor, according to WKDZ’s report.

Arms is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, second-degree criminal mischief, public intoxication, and criminal littering.

He was lodged at the Todd County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
