Juveniles allegedly vandalize statue, flee police in Marshall County

PADUCAH, Ky. – Two juveniles allegedly destroyed a veteran statue in Marshall County on Tuesday.

According to a release, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a four-wheeler being driven inside Mike Miller Park after hours.

When deputies arrived at the park, they located a destroyed statue at the Veterans Plaza.

Deputies say they heard a four-wheeler in the distance.

The deputies located the four-wheeler and two male juveniles, according to the release.

The male juveniles fled police on foot and were quickly apprehended.

One of the juveniles is a 16-year-old from Paduch, and the other is a 17-year-old from Calvert City.

Authorities say they were charged with first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespassing, and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

They were lodged at the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
