Barren County Schools recognizing Teachers of the Year

GLASGOW, Ky. – Barren County Schools is recognizing their Teachers of the Year for the 2025-2026 academic year.
According to a release, the recognition honors teachers who set high expectations, build meaningful relationships with students, and go the extra mile to ensure every learner feels supported and challenged.
“When you walk into the classrooms of these teachers, you can see the impact immediately. We are proud of their leadership, their dedication, and the difference they make for students every single day,” said Superintendent Amy Irwin.
BCS says the honorees will now be considered for regional consideration through Western Kentucky University.
2025–26 Barren County Teachers of the Year:
- Jessica Peters – Literacy Teacher of the Year, Barren County Middle School
- Daniel Robertson – High School Teacher of the Year, Barren County High School
- Donna Jones – Diversity Teacher of the Year, Barren County High School
- Jaime Ayres – Teacher Mentor of the Year, Barren County High School
- Shanna Depp – Physical Education/Health Teacher of the Year, Temple Hill Elementary
- Susie Lucas – Middle School Teacher of the Year, Barren County Middle School
- Casey Collins – Special Education Teacher of the Year, Austin Tracy Elementary
- Shelby Boggs – Visual & Performing Arts Teacher of the Year, North Jackson Elementary
- Debra Hughes – Elementary Teacher of the Year, Red Cross Elementary
- Scott Johnson – Innovative Teacher of the Year, Red Cross Elementary
- Brandy Davis – Preschool Teacher of the Year, Red Cross Elementary
