Death investigation underway after fatal fire in Summersville

SUMMERSVILLE, Ky. – The Green County Coroner’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a fire in the Summersville community of Green County.
According to the Summersville Fire Department, a fatal fire occurred on the 400 block of William E. Lobb Drive shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Officials say upon arrival, firefighters located a mobile home fire half involved with heavy flames and smoke throughout the rest of the structure.
The fire department says it was told there may be two people inside of the home. Officials say both individuals were found dead inside.
Firefighters say they remained on scene for approximately three hours, working to extinguish the fire and assisting the coroner’s office.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however, officials say foul play is not expected.
Additional assisting agencies included the Green County Volunteer Fire Department, Taylor County Volunteer Fire Department, Green County Emergency Management, Green County Coroner’s Office, Green County Sheriff’s Department, Green County EMS and Greensburg 911 Center.
