LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – One man is behind bars after authorities say he is accused of breaking into a Grayson County business.

According to a uniform citation, Leitchfield police responded for a report of a disorderly male in a smoke shop parking lot.

Authorities say while responding to the scene, they were notified the male was breaking into the Hines Law office. Upon arrival, police say the front door was kicked open, with 34-year-old Bryce Sadler of Leitchfield sitting in an office chair inside.

Authorities say Sadler “smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages” and that there were multiple open containers in the building.

While in custody, police say Sadler undid his seat belt and began kicking the windows of the police cruiser and screaming.

Police say during this time, Sadler was also able to slide his hands and handcuffs in front of him.

The citation further states officers said the door of the cruiser was bowing.

After verbal commands to stop were not followed, police say Sadler was pepper sprayed until he complied.

Police say they then had to physically carry Sadler inside.

Sadler remains at the Grayson County Detention Center. He faces charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and third-degree escape (attempt).
