Units respond to fire in Warren County, rescue homeowner from roof

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Units responded for a reported house fire on Wednesday night.

The Richardsville Fire Department says units were dispatched around 11:30 p.m. to Detour Road. Upon arrival, the fire department says units found smoke showing from a chimney.

The homeowner was reportedly on the rooftop, trying to extinguish the fire.

Fire personnel say the homeowner was stuck on the roof due to icy conditions and was rescued.

In addition, units entered the home to work on extinguishing the fire. The fire department says the fire was out within five minutes of arrival.

No injuries were reported.

In addition, Richardsville units were assisted by the Smiths Grove Volunteer Fire Department and the Barren River Fire Department.
