Hart Co. man arrested on drug charges after accidental 911 call

BONNIEVILLE, Ky. – A Hart County man is facing drug charges after an alleged accidental 911 call.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police responded Monday to a residence in Bonnieville after dispatch received two 911 calls.
Authorities say upon arrival, they observed two vehicles sitting in the driveway, each occupied by a person.
Troopers say they made contact with one of the individuals, identified as 68-year-old Gary Belt of Munfordville.
Authorities say they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
While speaking with a male and a female inside of the residence, authorities say they learned the male in the home had called 911 on accident while “trying to set up a new phone.”
Authorities say while speaking with Belt, he stated he had marijuana in the vehicle.
Troopers say Belt exited the vehicle, and during a vehicle search, they located suspected marijuana and methamphetamine, along with a glass pipe.
Belt was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.
He faces charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), first offense and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
