President Trump approves emergency declaration for Kentucky

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump approved federal disaster assistance to the Commonwealth of Kentucky Saturday.

According to a release, FEMA will assist in supplementing ongoing response efforts due to emergency conditions from severe winter storms that began on January 23.

Trump’s authorization allows FEMA to coordinate disaster relief efforts in all 120 counties in Kentucky.

FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize and provide equipment and resources to assist those impacted by the storms, according to the release.

Emergency protective measures will be provided at 75% federal funding.
