Hopkinsville man threatens to “blow up America,” police say

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville man is charged after allegedly saying he possessed a bomb

According to a uniform citation, Kentucky Legal Aid contacted the Christian County Sheriff’s Office after it received a voicemail from a man who said he had a bomb and was “going to blow up America.”

Deputies located the suspect, Michael Calvin, 53, of Hopkinsville, at Woodland Heights apartments on Greenville Road.

Calvin allegedly admitted to placing the phone call and leaving the voicemail, according to the citation.

Calvin was arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail.

He is charged with first-degree terroristic threatening.
