Columbia father charged with murder in shooting death of son

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is conducting a murder investigation in Adair County.

According to a release, KSP Post 15 and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at a home on KY 55 South Tuesday at approximately 3 pm.

Jordan Hadley, 33, of Columbia, was found at the home with serious injuries from an apparent gunshot wound.

The release states that Hadley was transported to the T.J. Samson Hospital, where he later died.

KSP says the preliminary investigation shows that Jordan Hadley and his father, Phillip Bruce Hadley, 56, of Columbia, were in an altercation.

Phillip Hadley allegedly drew a handgun and fired it, striking his son.

Phillip Hadley was arrested and is charged with murder. He was lodged at the Adair County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
