Edmonson County woman charged with possessing explosives

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – An Edmonson County woman is facing charges in connection with the alleged possession of explosives.
According to a uniform citation, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department responded Monday to the 100 block of Fox Wood Court to serve an arrest warrant for a male subject.
Upon arrival, authorities say they spoke to a woman related to 46-year-old Jenny Durbin of Bee Spring.
Deputies say they witnessed a person entering the home and dropping a backpack on the porch.
Authorities say they were given permission to search the home and located what appeared to be a foil pipe, along with marijuana.
Inside of the backpacks on the porch, deputies say they found a military grade explosive igniter, suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe with residue.
Durbin was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.
Authorities say she claimed ownership of the backpacks.
She faces charges of possessing/distributing explosives without a permit, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second offense (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
